Wikileaks: With the leak as weapon
My friend, Björn Granberg (webdesigner, photographer, environmentalist…) has published Swedish Televisions SVT documentary on Wikileaks and the net activist Julian Assange. Like Björn I find this a very fascinating document which tries to get under the surface of the organization, understand the driving forces and the ideology behind the tremendous impact that Wikileaks has made the past year.
In Sweden there is, probably like elsewhere, a debate about Assange: On the one hand as the creator and editor of Wikileaks, on the other hand as a person accused here of sexual harassment and rape. The conclusion seems to be that, of course, you have to keep the two things apart. Wikileaks may be of tremendous importance importance and impact. No matter whether Assange has committed the crimes he is accused of or not.
Björn writes: “The documentary was aired on Swedish Televison the 12th of December, and is available for a short time after that [only until today, December 16th] at SVT Play from where I ripped the English version (SVT Play is restricted to those that have a Swedish ip-address).”
Now click here. And enjoy the film.
